If you choose to do both sections of the tour bear in mind that you have a short (1) one-hour break in between which is plenty of time to grab some lunch or do some shopping.

Morning: Working class Hero
On this unique tour, enter the convicts' side of town and follow the footsteps of the first settlers and the nineteenth-century working-class man that will lead us through The Rocks district. The Rocks is the historic neighbourhood on the western side of Sydney Cove. It was named The Rocks by convicts who made homes there from 1788 but has a much older name, Tallawoladah, given by the first owners of this country, the Cadigal people. After the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788, Tallawoladah became the convicts' side of the town.

After your breakfast, meet at the Customs House at 10:00 am, one of Sydney's landmark heritage buildings, now a free public 'lounge room' for visitors. Get a bird's-eye view of the sprawling city and literally walk over the skyscrapers before walking across to Cadman's Cottage the oldest surviving residential building in Sydney. Learn about Australia's convict past while walking through Nurses walk and the Big Dig. Have the opportunity to step into a prison cell and indulge into the drinking history of Sydney while sipping a beer at one of the oldest pubs in Australia.
The first part of the tour ends at George Street - a busy transport hub with lots of things to see and do! Grab something to eat or drink, as we meet again in an hour for the second part of the tour.

Afternoon: The Grand Opera Walk
If you ask anyone to point out two things they know about Sydney, you will probably hear about the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
So...get prepared to see these landmark, skyline-dominating structures. The Sydney Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts centre and one of the 20th century’s most famous and distinctive buildings. Built originally on a small tidal island, Bennelong Island, it has world heritage listing. This walk visits some of Sydney’s best heritage buildings, walking along Macquarie street, named after Sydney’s last autocratic Governor.
Admire and learn the facts and tales behind buildings such as the Hyde Park Barracks, Sydney Hospital (now Sydney Mint and NSW Parliament House) and St James Church. Our specially tailored tour makes sure that you get the very best out of this historic part of the city. Tour Sydney with the people that know it best, the locals.
